I am this close to buying a chair for around $1k, for my home workspace. It's an Herman Miller Aeron, which I have one of at work and love... But I need to gawk around at their local representative to see what it'd cost from there and if it's easier to get someone to ship one onwards from the US... |

Going to Budapest for a week, staying at the Corinthia Budapest (even though their spa's closed tues-thurs and they ship people to the Ramada's spa instead, those days).

We'll be out and about most of the day (for values of "day" that maps to "Tuesday to Saturday" and "after 10:00 or so") and are heading on to Sydney on Sunday afternoon.

In Hong Kong with Ms. Terious right now. We've been here since Monday, flying to Melbourne on Sunday, staying there Monday-Sunday, then Sydney Sunday-Sunday, and then back to HK for almost a week (flying back midnight between Saturday and Sunday). I still like it here.
In Melbourne, plans include trying to meet silverblue and lederhosen, if possible, and in Sydney we're planning on meeting a former colleague of mine who's moved to work at our Australian site, Dinkos. |

Previously, previously.
He's a bit older than we thought - from the tartar the vet said possibly two years old - and a friend who's trained in animal care said he looks a bit more like a Maine Coon than a Norwegian Forest cat.
After the initial period, the other four split into "got along with" (Sotis, Tusse) and "didn't get along with" (Rawhide, Missan), although they all seemed somewhat more active while he was here.
He moved to some friends of ours who have a female cat in the right age bracket last sunday, and apparently they hit it off really well, so I think they'll get the desired litter as soon as gestation allows (after which he'll most likely get snipped).
I miss him (it's hard not to), but he's probably a lot happier there. And the people he moved to live, like, fifteen minutes away on foot, so it's not difficult to visit him. |

Well, one cat. Some kind of Norwegian Forest Cat cross, probably (he has the fur for it), that the Baroness found outside when it was -15C and took in. Unchipped and no ear tattoo so far as she can tell, he's pretty dang skinny, and has some habits that makes her think he might have been very young when he escaped (or got abandoned).
He currently occupies the kitchen. The other four cats are very curious (except for Rawhide, who we brought in as an experiment, who just sat atop the kitchen table, looked under it, where our guest was hiding, and then wanted to be let out again). And no, we're not keeping him. We've talked to a couple of friends who might be able to take him in. |
